Many people find it difficult to type on tablets, but it gets easier with time. There is, however, a speech dictation button on the iPad. Simply depress your home button two times, and hit the small microphone icon. When you finish speaking, press that icon again and the words will show up as text.



If you iPad is set to default you will be able to see a few sentences of your email before you read it. You may want to have more text available to preview. Just click on Settings and then Mail. Go to Mail, Contacts, and Calendar to adjust Preview Mail Options to add more lines.

Be careful with your iPad at the beach. Sand is a pretty dangerous thing for an iPad. Not only can it get caught in the little crevices of the device, it can also easily scratch your screen where few other things can. It's best to use a screen cover in these situations, or better yet, leave the iPad at home for your beach time.



The iPad is great for music, but are you aware of podcasts? Podcasts are radio programs that last anywhere from two minutes to two hours, and they can be on all sorts of topics. If music is something you have had enough of lately, give some podcasts a try. There are so many topics that you're sure to find one that you find interesting.



Some people hold the iPad horizontally while taking photos. Sadly, this leads to blurry photos. Use the orientation lock. The shutter button will be easier to access since it will be near your thumb. After you take a photo, use the image editor for rotating the image.



Are you tired of tapping the bookmark icon over and over so you can visit your favorite sites? Well, you're able to keep the bookmarks bar on forever if you want to rid yourself of this problem. Enter the Settings menu, select Safari, and enable Always Show Bookmarks.



Create folders to better organize your iPad screens. Just get your screen to jiggle mode and then place the icons on each other if you would like them in the same folder and repeat until you have everything where you want it. This feature is great when you have twenty or more icons.

Most people know that an SD card can be plugged into the iPad directly from their camera to view photos. Many people do not know that a connection kit can be purchased to connect your camera to your iPad. You can search the online Apple Store to find one for your camera.





You can find a free downloadable version of the user guide for the iPad. Go to Apple's website and find the PDF version of the guide. You can then download and print it. It is also available as an iBook that can be downloaded directly to your iPad. Use it to assist you in learning how to fully operate your iPad.



Look for a quality video tutorial to help you figure things out that you are having difficulties with. You can find step by step guides to doing just about anything on your iPad. It will benefit you greatly to learn how to do things the right way the first time. These videos will be the easiest way to learn.



All of the satellite navigation applications in the iPad are not free. A good substitute for this is using the Maps instead. Tap on Directions in the upper left of Maps. The iPad will then figure out your location and will direct you on each stage of your travels to your destination.
